“I Won’t Back Down”

米では大統領候補選の真っ只中ですが、共和党の George Bush が選挙戦のイベントに TP の”I Won’t Back Down”を使用したことに対し、TP サイドは抗議のレターを送ったそうです。

嬉しいライヴのニュースが入ってきました

10月28、29日に Shoreline Amphitheatre（Mt. View）で行われる、恒例の「Bridge School Benefit Concert」（今年で14回目）への出演が決まったようです。チケットの発売は9/24から。

TP&HB の他には、Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young、the Red Hot Chili Peppers、Dave Matthews Band、the Foo Fighters、Beck and Tegan and Sara の出演が予定されています。

『Anthology』

寝耳に水？といった感じで、TP&HB の『Anthology』アルバム発売の噂が出てきました。発売日や内容に関する具体的な説明もあり、これはかなり期待できそうです。

  • There will be a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers release this fall The 34 song anthology covers TPHBs’ MCA years. There is also a new studio version of “surrender”, a song Tom wrote in 1977 and is releasing now.
  • According to Billboard Online, MCA/Universal records will be releasing two albums by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Both releases are listed under “Vault Pop & Rock”. The first is scheduled for October 10, 2000 and is called “Anthology”. The second is scheduled for October 17, 2000 and is called “Tom Petty”.
