2）ミネソタ州の音楽情報サイト Music in Minnesota.com が＜The Best Rock Songs of All Time: The Ultimate Top 40（史上最高のロック・ソング：究極のトップ40）＞を発表。”American Girl”が15位にランクインしました。なお、1位は”Strawberry Fields Forever” (The Beatles)、2位は”Johnny B. Goode” (Chuck Berry)、3位は”Sweet Jane” (Velvet Underground) でした。
3）American Songwriter 誌サイトが＜Tom Petty’s 10 Favorite Elvis Songs（Tom Petty が大好きな Elvis の10曲）＞というランキングを発表しまた。”That’s All Right”、”Hound Dog”、”Heartbreak Hotel”、”Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”という定番曲も含まれていました。

4）ハードロック寄りのニュースサイト Loudwire が＜What’s the Best Tom Petty Album?（Tom Pettyのベスト・アルバムは？＞という読者投票を行いました。上位5作は『Damn the Torpedoes』（130票、25%）、『Wildflowers』（129票、24%）、『Full Moon Fever』（121票、23%）、『Tom Petty &
the Heatbreakers』（44票、8.3%）、『Into the Great Wide Open』（39票、7.4%）となっていて、3作への集中ぶりが著しいです。
5）Singersroom というサイトが＜21 Best Songs About Road Trip For Creating Good Vibes（良い雰囲気作りのための自動車旅行の曲ベスト21）＞を発表し、9位に”American Girl”が選出されました。1位は”Road Trippin'” (Red Hot Chili Peppers)、2位は”L.A. Woman” (The Doors)、3位は”Sweet Home Alabama” (Lynyrd Skynyrd) でした。
6）再び Singersroom で＜19 Best Songs About Flying and Planes（飛行と飛行機の曲ベスト19）＞というランキングです。TP&HB からは”Learning to Fly”が7位に選ばれました。1位は”Sunset (Bird of Prey)” (Fatboy Slim)、2位は”Learning to Fly” (Pink Floyd)、3位は”Amelia” (Joni Mitchell)でした。
7）しつこく Singersroom から、＜Songs about Karaoke Songs for Men（男のためのカラオケ曲）＞というランキングがありました。ここでは “Free Fallin'”が11位にランクイン。なお、1位は”Jump” (Van Halen)、2位は”Sweet Home Alabama” (Lynyrd Skynyrd)、3位は”Livin’ On A Prayer” (Bon Jovi) でした。個人的に1位と予測した”Bohemian Rhapsody” (Queen)は5位でした。というか、欧米圏のカラオケではこんな曲たちが歌われているのですね。
