“When you make a lot of records you get to the point of thinking, what’s the point of making another one if it’s going to be like the others? So I’m trying to refine what I do. I don’t want it to be off the cuff this time, I’m trying to think it through. The group is playing better than ever, which is really odd at our age. But they’re so damn good, now they can get a song down quick. So the onus is on me. I think I’ve got most of the songs down and I’m pretty excited. It’s going to be less jangly, maybe a little less guitar orientated. It’s coming out good.”
“I want to come back and tour Britain again. It’s so important because so many of my favourite groups are from there, but I want to play theatres. It’s been a long time since I did that.”
